Walk In Baths Ltd specialises walk-in baths or baths with doors. Yes, that’s right. Not walk-in-showers but baths, where you can sit down on the moulded upright seat and relax at home in your own personal walk-in bath.

Ideal for everyone who enjoys a bath, these products enable you to bath sitting upright (like in a chair) rather than lying flat. They are particularly recommended for people aged 50+, or physically challenged of all ages, who wish to continue to enjoy safety, easy accessibility and independence in the bathroom.

Our walk-in baths are ideal for installation in private houses, sheltered housing and in multi-user facilities, such as rest homes or hospitals. By offering you a safe bathing system at home or in a care facility, we’re enabling you to bath in private and with dignity.

Why did we start Walk In Baths?

It all started with the mother-in-law, as many stories do. She's an active lady in her early sixties, involved in walking, childcare and gardening. She even attends the gym. You can imagine how surprised we were to hear that she had stopped bathing because she found it hard to get in and out of the bath.

"I don't feel old or unfit," she said, "but I have to turn onto my hands and knees to get out of the bath. As you get older, you don't have the strength in your upper arms to lever yourself out of the bath, and your hips get stiff so you can't get your legs underneath to push off."

At a family gathering, she compared notes with others of a similar age and realised she was not the only one facing these problems.

So, we started Walk In Baths Ltd. We're catering for people of all ages who have to adapt their lifestyles to cater for reduced mobility. Our walk-in baths enable you to enjoy the benefits of bathing without the inconvenience and discomfort associated with a traditional lie-down bath. You sit up, surrounded by warm water, and let the soothing effects of that water ease the aches and pains of the day as you relax.

At Walk In Baths Ltd, we can provide healing hot water and - as an option – air-powered spa bubbles, and bring them to you in your own home in a safe and easy-to-use product. You have privacy, safety and independence all in one walk-in bath. And we have named our baths in tribute to New Zealand’s natural hot water spas – the Rotorua and the Waiwera.
